One day as I was pondering on “true religion” I reread James 1:27. It says:
“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” As I read that, the word visit jumped out at me. I realized that visiting orphans also meant that you must love and serve them. Christ commanded us to love our neighbors and serve them. So if we were to visit orphans we must love and serve them also. This was the birth of the word LOVOSO: Love Orphans, Visit Orphans, Serve Orphans. I still try to do this daily even those these “orphans” are now my sons. It is easy to love my boys. It is a bit harder to serve them. But that is what God commands from all of us. I am not special. You too are called to love, visit, and serve orphans. Maybe not our orphans, but orphans nonetheless. I believe that one of the ways you can “visit” the orphans is by helping to provide for their daily needs. You may not be able to physically visit us for whatever reason but you can love, visit, and serve them by helping provide for their today as well as their tomorrow. February was a busy month for us. To start the month off we had Blake and Corey visit us from the US. They are both photographers and they were able to train 3 of our boys in the basics of photography. We also had a friend visit from North India and he was able to begin to teach us the art of guitar making. This will be a long process but we have begun the process of building guitars that will one day be sold through LOVOSO.com
